Mallie's Instruments
Mallie's harpsichord was built by Peter Tkach
of St. Louis, MO. It is his Opus 22 delivered in February of 1985. A French single, modeled after an instrument by
Nicholas Blanchet from about 1720, the instrument has 61 notes FF-f3, two sets of strings at 8' pitch and two sets of jacks.
There is a buff on the back 8'. The casework is walnut veneer with a sitka spruce soundboard. The wrestplank is a birch
plywood laminate with a sitka spruce veneer. The natural keys are topped with rosewood, and the sharp rises are ebony
capped with ivory.

Soundboard Painting
The soundboard painting was done by Andrea Tkach
, the builders wife. The painting has been done in the traditional French style characterized by open spacing, and a number of white flowers
realistically rendered. The border is a Collesse design found on many instruments of the period.
